Christchurch Special Assembly

Christchurch Special Assembly

Friday on the 15th of March something terrible happened in Christchurch. If you don't know what happened in Christchurch there was a gunman Shooting people at Al Noor and Lynn Wood Mosques. But luckily the cops caught and arrested the gunman. He is only 28 years old, he had been preparing to shoot the two Mosques for 2 years. This is really rare this has not happened in NZ before. In school we had a Special Assembly. We made cards to show that we care about the people who died. We also went outside in front of the shade house we planted a Kowhai tree, That reason why we picked the Kowhai tree is because it represents our school. In school we watched the live feed of the Christchurch memorial, there was a famous singer called Cat Stevens that came up on the stage and sang a song for everyone who died. It was called Peace Train. Remember Always Respect Each Other.

Te Waka Ako's Senior Syndicate Treaty.

This year we made a new Te Waka Ako Senior Syndicate Treaty.
We made the treaty this week on Tuesday.
Miss Daly made the Syndicate treaty in Te Waka Ako in the class Waitemata.
We made the treaty so that everybody could listen and also behave in our school and with our property. Everyone in Te Waka Ako Signed the Syndicate Treaty to respect each other and behave. Miss Daly has been spending hours making the Syndicate Treaty. I have learnt to sleep properly and get lots of energy to come to school and answer lots of questions.
What I will do next time is to always answer questions and be curious.
How I will improve this is I will always put my hand up to answer and ask questions.

2019 Cameron Pools

This week we went to Cameron pools. My swimming teacher's name is Rachelle.
She was really nice and showed us lots of new skills. She showed us how to float on our back
and on our tummy we also learnt to do Dolphin Dive, get out of the pool and get in the pool safely.
We also competed with girls against boys and do arm strokes. We pretended to fall down in the water and start floating for five seconds on our back and tummy.
We had so much fun.

Football Trials 2019

This year I signed up for football. Dave and Mr Rattenbury are teaching us football trials.

We all were wearing bibs. The first colour was red and the other colour was green.
We had about 7 people in each team. We always do training like we do passing saves and shots.
I've always wanted to be in the football zones we haven't picked the teams yet but there is always 7 girls and 7 boys in the football zone. We only pick people who pass at school and have lots of accuracy.
Dave our coach tells us to never give up he says when we fall down to get back up.
See ya blog you later.
