Gumboot Friday

Gumboot Friday

Last Friday was Gumboot Friday. All of the teachers were wearing Gumboots to raise awareness of

mental health. Also some of the kids were wearing Gumboots too. What we did to be positive is that

we made special cards and we went to random houses and we put one card in any mailbox we want.

One of the students in my school thought of the idea of making cards and putting it inside of any mailbox. This Term our topic is Hauora-Well Being and if you are suffering from bad mental health then you

won't have good well being. In my opinion about Gumboot Friday is that it is really good because if you

have good mental health you will feel good about yourself, but if your not Mental Health is not good  then

life can be hard. It is really important that we raise awareness of mental health.

Tread Lightly Caravan

Today the Tread Lightly Caravan came to visit our school.
They came to our school so that they can teach us how much people litter and to show us how to stop people from littering.
First we went in to the Kowhai room, And they asked us a question. They asked how do we get oxygen. Lots of people said lots of different answers like trees, water and a lot more.

We went to the caravan so that can learn and then we can teach others.
We all got 9-8 people in 3 groups and there was
3 stations to.The first station we went to was the caravan they gave us some bottles full of trash and in the caravan they had thing like drains, toilets, the rubbish bin, the sink, and lots more.
What we had to do is we all had a turn to try and put the bottle in the right place.
We had things like paint, trash, diapers, oil, and more.

One thing I learned

To always put the right Rubbish in the right bin.
