Cross Country

On The 11th of September we had cross country, in class we were put in to groups and went to each rotation. The first rotation my group went to was eating the combo the combo had a slice of cake and an Ice Block, most people got a brownie because they didn't really like banana cake so that's why they got a slice of brownie instead.
The next rotation we did was trying to kick the ball in all of the Football net there were 2 big goals and 2 small goals, to make it more challenging the leaders got to be goal keeper. I didn't really like the next rotation skipping because I couldn't skip and cause I kept on hitting the rope on my foot and I got a really big bruise from that.

My favourite rotation was the obstacle course it was my favourite because the fist course you had these rings and had to go around the rope to complete There were 13 bits of the course my favourite part was when you go on the fireman pole. when it was time for to watch the year fives run the year 6's had to help them go the right way. When it was time for the year 6's to run the whole school were watching us run they were cheering a lot. I love Cross Country and I think it's good for exercise.

Litter Blitz

On the 24th of July we went out of school and picked up lots of rubbish.
There were about 9 groups in the seniors that went all around the whole school and picked up rubbish.
We wore a badge and a  bright neon green reflective sash we wore a sash so we don't get lost and so we be seen by traffic.
Every group had turns using the pick up stick to pick up all of the rubbish. We picked up the rubbish because we were trying to clean up the environment.
My group went up the back of Waikowhai Primary School and found rubbish like cans, bottles, glass, junk food, foam we also found 20 cents and $20.
It was pretty hot and it was a long way back to Waikowhai Primary School. It was 12:40 and we had to get back to school because it was almost lunch time.
The group next to us was really far away from us and we had to catch up.
When we got back to the school from picking up lots of rubbish, we dumped all of the rubbish in a really big bag we saw things like diapers, fans, socks, and also ripped pants.
The kids who found the Golden tickets got free T-Shirts they were really cool.

Squash!

This term every Wednesday we have squash lessons we had Squash sessions there were 4 courts and 4 groups, My friend Faris is the best in the our class and our Squash teacher says he is the best in the whole school. Nikhil in our class is the second best in the whole school and I think its because he times his shots and moves a lot.

In the 4 courts there are 2 rackets and 1 squash ball we compete against the people in your group for e.g if you win you are still in the game but if you lose you have to go to the back of the line and wait till its your turn.

Squash is quite easy but when it's your first time playing it could be a little hard but you'll get use to it if you play a lot if you don't have a Squash court just use a wall or just make a court by using wood.

In Squash there are 3 lines the tops line is called outer line the middle is surf line and the bottom is called the tin line. One day when there was about 10 minutes left we had a match and our Squash teacher pick player who played very well and improved there skills. 

And we also needed a ball boy I was the ball boy the ball boy had to be at the back of the court because the ball always goes to the back of the court when someone hits it to high.

Trip To Camp!

                                     Camp!

On the 20th of August the senior syndicate went on a trip to Mount Ruapehu, we had to wake up so early because we had to be at school by 7:30am to get in our colour groups and put our suit cases in the bus. When it was time to get in the bus we all said bye to our families for 4 days off the went to Hamilton Gardens, when we made it to Hamilton Gardens we had a lunch break. 

We also had a papers with pictures of statues, patterns and a lot more when we went back in the bus we went to Otorhanga witch is the Ed Hillary Walkway to have a lunch break and looked at the posters and had a challenge the challenge was trying to find information from the posters. when we finished the challenge when went to the park it was really fun when we had a race on ta really fun ride and we couldn't figure out who won the race.

Next stop was Tumaria School and had a play there me and my friends played cricket lots of parents came and joined the game with us It was awesome. And now the best part going to the crossing where we're staying for 3 days. The next day it was our first ski and snowboarding we went to put on our gear and when I put on my gear It was soo hot and the boots were heavy. 

I was skiing we learnt how to Stop, slow down and how to ski. we also went tobogganing and got to go on the magic carpet. On the last day of skiing we got to have free time me and my friends raced each other and going on the chair lift. On the last day we went to the pool and we could bomb. This was the best camp ever!

Emotions Before Going to Camp

Before going to camp I feel very nervous but excited at the same time because I get to go somewhere with the whole school and spend time with my friends for the first time.  I  also get to touch the snow again after 3 years! My challenge goal is to ski on higher mountains. I could gain confidence and becoming better at skiing by going faster. I could also become more confident with skiing faster than 3 years ago. After Camp I think I will feel like snowboarding instead of skiing so I could learn something new. I would feel very scared because my family wont come on the trip but I think I will get used to it because ill be with my friends.

Climate Change March

                      Climate Change March

On the 24th of May, Te Waka Ako marched down Queen Street to protest about Climate Change. We also brought some signs we made during school to wake up the Government. First, we got in to our groups and then the teachers gave us some orange beanies so when we get lost it would be easy to find us. After that we finally went in the bus and off we went to Queen Street. When we got to the city everyone was singing "Hey Hey Hey Ho Ho Climate Change has got to go!" As we were singing people were taking lots of videos. There were a lot of people at the march like parents, children, adults, and also high school kids. We took a break and sat down and had some food to eat. As we were eating, lots of people were walking around and looking at other people's signs. When we finished our food it was time to march down Queen street. As we all walked down Queen street everyone was shouting our chant. After about 2 minutes everyone was telling us to lie down and then we were lying down for about 1 minute then we got back us and were still walking as soon as we got half way we went back up and it was time to go back to school. The End.

Pink Shirt Day

We put messages in random peoples letter boxes so that if there getting bullied we could cheer them up. We posted messages all around our school Waikowhai Primary. Some people called our school and was talking about how they liked the messages we sent to them but one person was talking on the phone and was very emotional

On the 17th of May, it was Pink Shirt Day. The hole Senior Syndicate went around Waikowhai Primary and were posting letter that say positive things on them. Everyone in the senior syndicate made 3 positive cards and some students made more for posting in random letter boxes.
